I Mine Because the Silence Helps Me Think

Most people want high hashrate, max return, fancy gear. I don’t. I mine on an old laptop. It makes barely anything But I love it because of the sound.

It’s this soft, constant hum. Like a fan whispering in the corner. It fills the space in my room without demanding anything from me. Some nights I just sit in the dark and let it run while I think. No Discord. No charts. Just the sound of slow work happening beside me.

I don’t mine for the ETH. I mine for the peace.

Anyone else?

Honestly, yes.
I use a desktop with terrible airflow so it huffs like an old man, but it still comforts me. The sound reminds me something’s happening even if I’m stuck in my head.
I’ve written essays to the sound of mining. It’s become background music.

Not to be weird but I totally leave it running while I sleep. It’s the only white noise that doesn’t annoy me.

I started running HashHenge while journaling. It became part of the mood.
Candles, lo-fi, fan sound, mining tab open.
Like a ritual. The ETH is just a footnote at this point.

Glad I’m not the only one listening to machines like they’re friends.
It’s strange how mining turned out to be a form of meditation.
